CHAIDEE RESTAURANT SAMUI

Heute waren wir in einem tollen neuen Restaurant hier auf Samui. Es heisst Chaidee und ist nicht nur ein Thai / Sushi / Europaeisches Restaurant, sonders es gibt dort auch einen Streichelzoo mit Ziegen, Voegeln, Schildkroeten und vielen anderen Tieren. Besonders toll ist der sprechende Kakadu und auch unser kleiner Tyler hatte schon mit seinen fast 5 Monaten viel Spass. Das Essen war toll, die Besitzer sind super freundlich und wir wissen heute schon, dass wir definitiv wieder dorthin gehen.

Today we went to a fantastic new restaurant here on Samui. It is called Chaidee and is not just a restaurant with Thai / Sushi / European cuisine, but they also have a petting zoo with goats, birds, turtles and many more animals. Especially cool is the talking kakadu and our little Tyler had great fun even being 5 nearly 5 month only. The food was amazing, the owners super friendly and we know already, that we will return there for sure.

 

MONTESSORI SAMUI

SPIELGRUPPE / PLAYGROUP

Nachdem Tyler und ich vor einigen Wochen schon einmal in der Montessori Schule in der Nahe unseres Hauses waren, ging es heute richtig los. Die Schulferien sind vorbei und seit heute bieten sie dort eine Mami-Kind Spielgruppe geleitet von Nathalie an. Wir waren von 10-13Uhr dort und Tyler hatte sichtlichen Spass andere Kinder zu treffen und dort etwas Zeit zu verbringen. Die Montessori Schule hier auf Samui wurde eroeffnet von Mira und Ihrem Mann Shai. Sie haben selbst zwei Kinder, unter anderem den 7 Monate alten Jonathan, der zusammen mit Tyler auf einigen Fotos zu sehen ist. Die Schule ist wirklich niedlich und mit sehr viel Herz eingerichtet und wir freuen uns schon heute auf unsere naechste Spielgruppenzeit. After Tyer and I went to Montessori school a couple of weeks ago, did it really start today, Summer holidays are over and since today they offering a mommy-child playgroup, which is guided by teacher Nathalie. We were there from 10am-1pm and Tyler had fun meeting other kids and spent time in the nursery. Montessori school Samui was opened by Mira and her husband Shai. They have two kids themselves and their 7 month old Jonathan, which you can see in some of the pictures, is together with Tyler in a group. The school is very cute and set up with a lot of heart and we are already looking forward to our next playdate. VISA RUN PENANG

Nun ist es schon wieder eine ganze Weile her, dass Ihr was von mir gelesen habt und mir ist gerade aufgefallen, dass ich noch gar nicht von meinem Trip nach Penang, Malaysia geschrieben habe. Das ist nun schon gut 3 Wochen her und Tyler und ich sind, ohne Robert, nach Malaysia geflogen. Der Flug mit Firefly war kurz und ohne Probleme und in Penang haben wir im Cititel in Georgetown uebernachtet. Am Dienstag Abend habe ich mich mit Jim getroffen, der mir empfohlen wurde und sich komplett um mein Visa gekuemmert hat. Er ist zur Botschaft und am Donnerstag mittag hatte ich mein Visa in der Hand. Da ich ja momentan nicht mehr arbeite, habe ich nun ein sogenanntes ED (Education) Visa und werde in den naechsten Wochen damit beginnen, wieder Thai zu lernen. Dieses Visa ist fuer 1 Jahr und man muss eine bestimmte Anzahl an Stunden nachweisen, an denen man einen Thaikurs besucht hat. Aber zurueck nach Penang. Am Mittwoch waren Tyler und ich den ganzen Tag auf den Beinen und haben ganz Georgetown durchwandert und die Shopping Malls unsicher gemacht. Am Abend haben wir dann mit Robert geskypt und am naechsten Tag ging es ja zum Glueck wieder zurueck nach Hause. Ich war sehr ueberrascht, wie toll die Infrastruktur in Penang ist und auch die ganzen Wolkenkratzer hatte ich so nicht erwartet. Die Hauptstrasse fuehrt direkt zum Meer und man findet dort super neue Malls und viele Restaurants. Als ich dann noch das H&M Zeichen sah, habe ich mich riesig gefreut. Wie man in der Slideshow aber spaeter sehen wird, leider zu frueh, denn der H&M hatte noch nicht die Tueren geoeffnet. Na vielleicht fliegen wir ja alle drei mal fuer ein langes Wochenende nach Penang, es ist auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert.

It has been a while since I last posted something on my blog and I just realized, that I have not even written something about my visa run to Penang, Malaysia. About 3 weeks ago Tyler and myself flew to Malaysia without Robert. The firefly flight was short and without any problems and we stayed 2 nights at the Cititel in Georgetown. Tuesday evening I met Jim, who had been suggested by friends, and he picked up all my visa papers. He went to the embassy on Wednesday and on Thursday lunchtime I had my visa already. Since I am not working at the moment, I got a ED (education) visa for studying Thai. It is for a year and you have to show, that you have been taking thai classes during that time. But back to Penang. Wednesday Tyler and I discovered all Georgetown and went to some shopping malls. In the evening we skyped with Robert and on Thursday we already flew back home. I was surprised how well the infrastructure in Penang is and wasn't expecting sky scrapers this high. The main road goes along the oceanside and you find amazing new shopping malls and restaurants there. And when i saw the H&M sign I was so happy. Unfortunately they weren't open yet, which you will see later in the slide show. But maybe the three of us can fly back one day together, as it is worth to go there. 

WOCHENENDAUSFLUG NACH PHUKET / WEEKEND TRIP TO PHUKET

Letztes Wochenende sind wir nach Phuket gefahren. Los ging es am Freitag morgen um 6 Uhr mit der Faehre von Samui nach Surat Thani. Danach sind wir gute 300km mit dem Auto gefahren und unser erstes Ziel in Phuket war das Allamanda Resort, wo wir 2 Naechte verbracht haben. Anschliessend ging es zum deutschen Konsulat, um Tyler's Reisepass abzuholen und danach habe ich ein paar Stunden mit Tyler in der Schule verbracht. Abends waren wir dann noch mit Freunden essen und haben den Samstag mit shoppen und Freunde treffen verbracht. Am Sonntag mittag, nachdem wir noch bei Master Jay frische Rambutan und Mangosteen aus dem Garten gepflueckt haben, ging es auch schon wieder zurueck nach Samui. Es war ein schoener Ausflug und wir haben uns gefreut, viele Freunde wiederzusehen. 

Last weekend we went on a short trip to Phuket. We started at 6am with the ferry from Samui to Surat Thani. After that we drove about 300km and arrived at the Allamanda Resort to check in for two days. Then we went to the german consulate to pick up Tyler's passport and after that I spent a couple hours at school. In the evening we went for dinner with friends and saturday we done a lot of shopping and met some more friends. On sunday, after we picked some fresh rambutan and mangosteen from Master Jay's garden, we went back to Samui. It was a nice trip and it was great to see some old friends again.
