So kurz vor dem grossen Ereigniss, hatte mein Papa den Vorschlag, doch schnell noch ein paar schoene Fotos zu machen. Gesagt, getan, hat Robert gestern die Kamera gezueckt und ich bin fasziniert von den tollen Aufnahmen. Ich hab die Fotos fuer Euch in einer Slideshow zusammengestellt und hoffe, dass sie Euch gefallen.

Shortly before the big day, my dad had the advise to take some nice pictures. So yesterday Robert took the camera and I am fascinated about these wonderful pictures. I added them to a slideshow and hope you like them too.

KRANKENHAUS / HOSPITAL & 4D SCAN

Heute war ich beim Termin im Krankenhaus und moechte Euch gern ein wenig mehr darueber berichten. Das Bangkok Hospital Samui ist eins von mehreren internationalen Krankenhaeusern, die es hier auf Samui gibt. Da ich auch auf Phuket im Bangkok Hospital war und mich sehr gut aufgehoben gefuehlt habe, sind wir auch hier dabei geblieben. Das Krankenhaus liegt auch nur 5km von unserem Haus entfernt, was sehr beruhigend ist. Es ist kleiner, als auf Phuket, aber hat viel Charme und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Meine Aerztin, Dr. Pattamakorn ist sehr einfuehlsam und erklaert alles genau. Heute also hatte ich meinen Ultraschall und sie hat ein paar super Bilder vom Kleenen gemacht, die ich gern spaeter mit Euch teile. Unser Junge hat nun schon um die 3kg und der errechnete Termin ist der 15. April. Die Aerztin meinte allerdings, dass es auch schon vorher soweit sein kann und dass alles in Ordnung ist. Das hoeren wir natuerlich gern und warten nun gespannt die Zeit ab.

I went for my appointment to the hospital today and like to write a little bit about it. The Bangkok Hospital Samui is one of some international hospitals here. Since I went to Bangkok Hospital in Phuket, we stayed with the company. The hospital is only 5km from our house, which is reassuring. It's a bit smaller than the one in Phuket, but has charm and the staff is very friendly. My doctor, Dr. Pattamakorn, is very sensitive and explains everything to me. Today I had my 4D scan and she took some very nice pictures of our little one, which you can see below. Our boy has already 3kg (6.8lbs) and the estimated "arrival" day is the 15th of April, but the doctor said, that in can also start earlier and everything is all right. We are happy to hear that and are patiently waiting for him. 

KEIN WASSER / NO WATER

Gestern hatten wir den ganzen Tag kein Wasser und wussten erst gar nicht, was passiert war. Auf Samui haben die meisten Haushalte einen Wassertank, welcher vom staatlichen Wasserwerk ueber Leitungen gefuellt wird. Da es seit Wochen nur mal 2 Tage geregnet hat, wird das Wasser langsam knapp und so wird es auf der Insel "verteilt". Dies bedeutet, dass die Leitungen zum Befuellen der Tanks nur zu bestimmten Zeiten in bestimmten Gebieten geoeffnet werden. Am Abend waren wir dann dran und nun ist unser Tank zum Glueck wieder voll und wir werden wohl ueber die naechsten Wochen ein bisschen mehr darauf schauen und sorgsam mit unserem Wasser umgehen. 

We didn't have any water all day yesterday and weren't really aware what happened. Most households in Samui have a water tank, which is refilled by the government water supply over pipes. Since it hasn't been raining (except for 2 days) the last weeks, there is a water shortage and it had been decided to distribute water throughout the island only on certain times. Luckily we had our "turn", to receive water, in the evening and now our tank is full again. We will keep an close eye on our tank from now on for the next couple of weeks until rainy season starts and take good care of how much water to use. 

EINKAUFEN / SHOPPING

Mitlerweile hatten wir genug Zeit, um herauszufinden wo man am Besten einkaufen kann. Wie schon auf Phuket, gibt es auch auf Samui Makro, Big C und Tesco. Allerdings gibt es nicht mehrere davon, sondern nur einen und wir haben das Glueck, dass alle nur ca. 10min von unserem Haus entfernt liegen. Der Tesco Lotus in Bophut ist am groessten und es gibt dort auch ein Kino, Bowling und viele andere Laeden. Ansonsten findet man auf Samui mehr Family Marts, als Seven Eleven, was auf Phuket anders war. Viele kleine lokale Geschaefte sind ueber die Insel verteilt und natuerlich Maerkte, Tankstellen, Banken und alles, was man braucht. Hier ein paar Fotos:

 We had enough time now to find out where to go shopping in Samui. Like in Phuket, Samui also has Makro, Big C and Tesco. But you won't find many of them, but just one and we are lucky enough to reach all the shopping facilities within 10min from our house. Tesco Lotus in Bophut is the biggest shopping mall and also includes a movie cinema, bowling and a lot of other stores. Apart from food shopping, you can find more family marts than 7/11 here compared to Phuket. A lot of small local shops are all over the island and of course markets, gas stations, banks and everything you need. Below are some pictures:

 

ERKUNDEN DER INSEL / EXPLORING THE ISLAND

Heute habe ich mal ein wenig die Insel erkundet und einen wunderschoenen Ausblickspunkt in der Naehe von Lamai gefunden. Dort habe ich ein paar schoene Fotos geschossen, die ich gern mit Euch teilen moechte. Ausserdem findet Ihr in diesem Post eine sehr gute Karte von Samui. Ich habe einen Stern an der Stelle gemacht, wo unser Haus liegt.

I was exploring the island today a little bit and found an awesome view point close to Lamai (in the south). I took some nice pictures, which I like to share with you. Additionally I add a great map of Samui and placed a star, where our house is. 

  

NOCH 1 MONAT / 1 MONTH LEFT

Nun hat der letzte Monat der Schwangerschaft begonnen und wir sind dabei, die letzten Vorbereitungen fuer den kleinen Chef zu machen. Das Tagesbett zusammenzubauen war gar nicht so einfach, aber zum Glueck gibt es ja youtube. Dort habe ich ein Anleitungsvideo gefunden und damit ging es dann doch etwas besser. Die Erstausstattung fuer das Krankenhaus ist gewaschen und eingepackt und wir haben festgestellt, dass er schon jetzt mehr Klamotten hat, als wir. Das haengt aber vor allem mit den vielen tollen Sachen zusammen, die ich bei meiner Baby Party bekommen habe. Gern moechte ich mich auf diesem Weg noch einmal bei allen bedanken. Nun heisst es fuer uns abwarten und fuer mich, dass alles etwas ruhiger angegangen wird, als es eh schon die letzte Zeit war. Mein naechster Arzttermin ist am 29.3. und dann werden wir ungefaehr wissen, wie gross und schwer der kleine Mann wird und auch, ob es beim errechneten 15. April (was gleichzeitig Thai Neujahr ist) bleibt. Weiter unten koennt Ihr ein paar Fotos in einer Slide Show finden.

The last month of pregnancy started and we are busy getting things ready for the little chef. It wasn't that easy to put the daybed together, but luckily there is youtube. I found a instruction video and with that, it was a bit easier to set up. All the clothes to take to the hospital are washed and packed and we realized, that he already has more clothes than us. One of the reasons for that, are all the wonderful things I got for my baby shower. I would like to take the chance and say, once more, a big thank you for all the amazing things. Now we have to wait for the big day and for me it means to take it even easier than the last weeks. My next doctors appointment is in the 29th March and hopefully we know by then approximately how tall and heavy the little man will be and also if the estimated due date stays on the 15th April (which is also Thai new year).
